How the Group Stage Calculator Works
This is a fan-built scenario tool for the FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage. No login, no live data feed — just fast, accurate projections from the scores you enter.
1. Pick a group
Choose any of the 12 groups (A through L). Each group has the four teams from the official 2026 World Cup draw.
2. Enter match scores
Use the arrow buttons to set results for all six group matches. Unplayed matches stay blank — the tool never assumes 0-0. Matchday 3 is the simultaneous final pair.
3. See who advances instantly
Standings update on every score change with full FIFA tiebreaker logic. Top two advance automatically; third place is flagged as a best-third candidate.
4. Share your scenario
Tap Share Scenario to copy a link encoding your exact results. On mobile, you can also share a generated image card via the system share sheet.
What counts as a played match?
A match is included in the standings only when both scores are set. If you enter just one side, the match is ignored until the other score is entered. Clearing a match resets both sides to blank.
Tiebreakers and fair play
When teams finish level on points, FIFA criteria are applied in order: head-to-head points, head-to-head goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, head-to-head away goals, overall goal difference, overall goals scored, overall away goals, fair play, then FIFA ranking. If teams remain level on everything applicable, the tool shows a drawing-of-lots notice. Read the full tiebreaker rules.
Disciplinary points are seeded to zero at launch — the fair-play step is documented but not user-editable yet.
